Prevent Injuries at Work
Each year in Ontario, over 10,000 workers under the age of 25 file a claim with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) because they've been injured on the job to the extent that they cannot return to work the day after the injury. (www.worksmartontario.gov.on.ca)

The numbers are staggering. In 2008, 1,036* workplace deaths were recorded in Canada - down from 1055 the previous year. This represents more than 2 (2.43) deaths every single day. Another 942,478** were injured or become ill. In the sixteen year period from 1993 to 2008, 14,190* people lost their lives due to work-related causes (an average of 887 deaths per year).
